Wine merchant If you stop in Le Cateau-Cambrésis to explore the magnificent Henri Matisse Museum, it would be a shame to leave town without visiting Brasserie Vivat, formerly known as Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Cateau. Since 2022, Vivat has been a symbol of renewal, offering a range of beers brewed on-site (guided tours are available). We love Equus, which contains oat flakes; Carte Blanche, a light wheat beer; Aragon, aged in Muscat barrels; and Cueilleur Sauvage, an amber ale infused with black trumpet mushrooms. There’s a bar and restaurant right in the heart of the brewery.
