Established in downtown Surgères since 1956, the Joyet butcher's, delicatessen and caterer's delight gourmets and lovers of fine products from Tuesday to Sunday. Favoring short distribution channels, Damien Jourdain carefully selects the finest meats from his producers, and Label Rouge quality for pork and poultry. He takes similar care in the preparation of his butchery specialties - minced steak for restaurant-style burgers, veal milanaise and lucullus (smoked beef tongue and foie gras) for a festive meal. An appetizing range of home-made charcuterie, including famous local specialties such as farci and grillon charentais, accompanies a catering range that includes a choice of salads, puff pastries and the dish of the day, with a home-delivery service operating within a 30-kilometer radius. Regional products are also featured, with cheeses, appellation d'origine butter, fresh eggs, craft beers and apple juice, not forgetting fruit and vegetables.
