A beautiful shop, with its own style and specialties, including the famous macarons in their pretty tin boxes. You could keep it simple with cardboard boxes—the taste is the same—but it doesn’t convey the same sense of tradition. Also worth trying are the mini cakes, lollipops, chocolate sardines, and other soft, delicious treats. Take a good look around the chocolate section, with its bars made from single-origin cocoa, and don’t forget the famous Basque cake or the moist cakes in various flavors (we really love the pistachio-raspberry one).
