"The real Corsica is the mountains," says Monsieur Filippi to explain the name of his delicatessen of quality Corsican products. The store opened in downtown Bastia in 1982 with the aim of "supporting local producers". A pioneering concept that has since enjoyed widespread success. 44 years ago, Mr. Filippi had the premises renovated to create a beautiful old-fashioned store with stone walls, a high ceiling adorned with briquettes and arched pillars. Today, the vast range of products displayed on wooden shelves tells the story of a land of rich, authentic flavors. Artisanal charcuterie from 35 free-range Corsican pig breeders for part of the year, cheeses made from raw shepherd's milk, and an exceptional cellar featuring wines from ancient grape varieties complement a wide selection of cosmetics and spirits. A variety of delights within everyone's reach with online ordering. Store open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7.30pm and 7/7 in August, September and December.
