Sarlat-la-Canéda, whose medieval center was saved from demolition by André Malraux in the 1960s - the town served as the laboratory for France's first urban heritage protection law - now has a hotel worthy of its status. After a complete overhaul, the Grand Hôtel now boasts a spa with heated indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool and massage room. Housed in two pavilions (Pavillon Selves and Clos La Boétie), the 48 rooms and suites combine contemporary design and references to the Périgord region with a controlled visual coherence. The establishment also boasts a secure private parking lot with recharging stations, just a stone's throw from the cobbled streets.
