Opened in April 2020 near the Opéra Garnier, this pop-inspired hotel offers a welcome touch of whimsy in a neighborhood that has remained somewhat staid, with its bank branches and department stores. Designed by Michael Malapert (who also designed Cédric Grolet’s bakery-pastry shop at the Opéra and Station F in Paris), the 60 rooms and 3 suites (“L’Anamour,” “La Vie en rose,” and “L’Arrache-cœur”) have retained their moldings and polished hardwood floors, given a playful twist by string lights shaped like four-poster beds. On the ground floor, an open-air café topped by a large glass roof is packed every day with its large wooden tables and performance stage (featuring DJs on weekends). People come here to have a drink, enjoy 100% French products picked up at the Food Market, or listen to a concert. It’s a warm and whimsical spot, now enhanced by three private baths with jacuzzis and sensory showers in a cozy setting.
