What a spectacular sight! Perched on a chalk cliff with a terraced garden, this estate offers, first and foremost, a magnificent view of the waters of the Seine. Incredibly romantic, the place has long been the stuff of legends. It is said to have been the setting for the secret love affair between Leopold II, King of the Belgians, and Blanche de Vaughan, and later became a house of pleasure… Now converted into a hotel, it is spread across four buildings housing 44 rooms with a Zen-inspired, contemporary atmosphere, distributed among the manor house, two stately homes, and the spa. A 600-square-meter space entirely dedicated to wellness, featuring an indoor pool (14 m), a hammam, a sauna, and treatment rooms by Cinq Mondes. Adjacent to the movie theater and next to the billiards room, the gourmet restaurant Le Panoramique (led by Gaëtan Perulli) aims to be chic and cozy, just like the bistro Le 20 du Domaine, with its vintage glass roof and furniture sourced from nearby antique dealers. A bucolic and welcoming spot, nestled in the heart of the countryside with chickens in the garden and two yurts for the children. It’s enough to make you want to stay for several days—just long enough to visit the villages dotted along the Seine Valley, with Giverny at the top of the list.
