Gault&Millau's review2026
In the heart of the Périgord Noir region, between Sarlat and the meandering Dordogne river, Domaine de Monrecour has completed its transformation into an upscale boutique hotel under the guidance of its owners, Mr. and Mrs. Gauthier. The 19th-century manor house, restored by local craftsmen, houses 40 rooms divided between the château and its outbuildings, with comfort that doesn't sacrifice character for standard. On the relaxation side, two heated swimming pools and a 12-hectare park punctuate the daily routine. In the kitchen, chef Adrien Soro orchestrates the Table de Monrecour with a score centered on Périgord nuggets - pan-fried foie gras with black truffle - accompanied by a selection of fine regional wines. An address for lovers of blond stone and local gastronomy.
