This is a first for the Vosges Mountains: perched at an elevation of 900 meters, the Domaine de Montagne has become the very first five-star hotel in the Vosges department. Opened in January 2025 as a four-star spa hotel, the property—located in Ventron, between Lake Gérardmer and the Ballon d’Alsace—earned its fifth star in less than six months. Behind this success lies the vision of co-founders Alexandre Keff and Pierre Singer, who envisioned refined hospitality with authentic mountain charm. Chalet Frère Joseph features 28 rooms and suites, including a spectacular 80 m² panoramic suite adorned with wood paneling and marble, opening out onto the forest. The highlight of the stay is the 900 m² Forêt spa, offering a haven of relaxation: a heated pool, a hammam, saunas, treatment rooms, a private spa bath, outdoor hot tubs, and a cozy relaxation area by the fireplace. When it comes to dining, two experiences complement each other: Le M, a gourmet restaurant featuring a menu created by Benoît Potdevin and prepared daily by executive chef Maximilien Tröbs, and Le Comptoir de Montagne, a chic bistro with local touches for lunch. This five-star property marks the Hautes Vosges’ entry into the ranks of premier mountain destinations.
