At the gateway to Bordeaux, Haut-Bailly - La Chartreuse, formerly Château Le Pape, sits at the heart of a nine-hectare vineyard, owned by the Wilmers family who also preside over the fortunes of nearby Château Haut-Bailly. Built in the XVIIIᵉ century and now transformed into a guest house, this elegant chartreuse brings together only five luxurious rooms and suites, decorated with antique furniture and extended by very beautiful bathrooms - all overlooking, for some, large terraces with a 180° view of the vineyards and swimming pool. There's no restaurant here, but a lovely dining room where you can enjoy tasty breakfasts and, in the evening, a "chef's plate" prepared on request. Gourmets are also welcome to dine at the Table Privée at nearby Château du Haut-Bailly, by prior arrangement.
