In the heart of New Athens, in a former Sacem building, a double facade of brick and cut stone houses this hotel designed by architect Thomas Vidalenc and his wife Julia, who let their imaginations run wild here. This is evident in the inspirations that lend the place its elegance and whimsy, ranging from Hergé’s imaginary lands to the architecture of 1960s Eastern Europe. The 35 rooms (including 5 with terraces) and 2 apartments follow this theme: colorful walls (Prussian blue, emerald green, chick yellow), modernist light fixtures, 1960s Slavic-style furniture, light-colored hardwood floors, and terrazzo in the bathrooms. The restaurant offers simple, seasonal brasserie cuisine, which can be enjoyed in the dining room with its sumptuous marble floors or on the shaded patio. A unique and charming establishment, it also features a spa in the basement with a tiled lap pool inspired by Russian baths, which can be reserved for private use.
