Exceptional Hotel
Built in 1824 by the mayor of the time, this luxurious mansion has always been one of Arles' major events. Today, it is one of the most sought-after spots for artists and gallery owners during the famous Rencontres de la photographie. And rightly so, for this unique venue has retained its 19th-century refinement, while incorporating a well-tempered modernity. The 17 rooms (our favorites are on the ground floor, in the former stables, with small private terraces) blend Provencal spirit and contemporary design, with linen-covered bedding, antique furniture and designer lamps. The spa is tucked away under the stone vaults of the cellar, and the yew-shaded garden is home to a beautiful swimming pool with occasional tables where you can sip a cocktail amidst the flowers. All in the heart of the city!
