“A building all curves and transparency”… Architect Jean-Philippe Nuel took on a formidable challenge here by transforming this 1930s telephone exchange into a luxurious contemporary hotel. From the moment you step into the lobby, clad in light wood, the tone is set with imposing spaces and huge floor-to-ceiling windows. With its look reminiscent of a vintage ocean liner, the building is impressive, but Jean-Philippe Nuel has succeeded in turning it into a warm, dynamic, and vibrant living space. A Zen garden, a lounge bar, and the highly sought-after Chiquette restaurant (named in homage to “La Petite Chiquette,” a novel by writer Louis Codet), all enhanced by over 400 works of art scattered throughout the various spaces. The 67 rooms and suites reflect this inspired luxury, featuring spacious interiors and an abundance of light wood, not to mention the duplex suites designed like artists’ studios with spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower. The final highlight is a spa on the 3rd floor featuring a hammam, an outdoor hot tub, massage and fitness rooms, all extending onto an open-air terrace.
