In a former printing plant in the Cité Presse—which specialized in crossword puzzles until 2021—the Singapore-based Ascott Group opened its third Lyf hotel in Europe in 2025, and its most ambitious to date. The architectural firm Hardel Le Bihan preserved the original steel structure and raised the ceiling of the industrial hall to create a hybrid space with 140 rooms; a communal kitchen, a green rooftop with an adjoining greenhouse, a gym equipped with wooden machines, shared offices, and a smart laundry facility. The Bistouille bar-restaurant puts a new spin on the snack bar, a karaoke room is currently being installed, and the We Dough cookie shop occupies the storefront. A hotel that embraces its role as a living space as much as a place to stay—and one that gives the 20th arrondissement a venue worthy of its stature.
