Just 30 minutes from the capital, a retreat that feels like the perfect country house, nestled on the edge of the Saint-Germain-en-Laye forest in a former hunting lodge of Louis XIV, designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, the architect of the Place Vendôme. Nothing overly imposing, however, as the decor strikes an elegant balance between wood paneling, moldings, and designer furniture that playfully contrasts with the historic setting. We love this place for its beauty, but above all for the warm and relaxed atmosphere that reigns here. We head behind the bar to pour ourselves a drink, explore the delights of the buffet before choosing one of the tables set in the beautiful dining room or on the large terrace facing the park, and after dinner, opt for a movie in the cinema, a game of chess in the game room, or a break in the Nordic baths. As for the 49 rooms and suites spread across the château and two pavilions, they are in perfect harmony with the spirit of the place—ultra-comfortable and cozy, with some featuring beautiful fireplaces. A Green Key-certified hotel, ideal for a nature-filled weekend with family or friends.
