Soho House’s reputation is well established, and the opening of a new location is always a major event. In Paris, British entrepreneur Nick Jones (founder of the Soho House collection) set his sights on three buildings from different eras (the 19th century, the 1940s, and contemporary) — the former home of the family of poet Jean Cocteau — to create this impressive retreat, which opened in 2021 in the 9th arrondissement. Spanning some 4,000 m², the space features a blend of styles that lends the place its elegance, with club chairs sitting alongside sofas upholstered in Pierre Frey fabrics, all bathed in light from a patio and a splendid glass roof. Each of the 36 rooms offers its own unique atmosphere—from four-poster beds to English furniture sourced from antique dealers, Hungarian hardwood floors to Provençal terracotta tiles. The property also features a hammam, a fitness center with a sauna and a rooftop pool, as well as a cabaret for glamorous and festive evenings. It’s a must-visit destination, even if it requires becoming a member of this very exclusive club or being sponsored by an existing member.
