Gault&Millau's review2025
A cross between a bed-and-breakfast and a Parisian hotel, this establishment is located just a stone’s throw from the Gaîté Lyrique and in the heart of “Silicon Sentier,” the part of the 3rd arrondissement that is home to today’s top startups. Inspired by Salomon de Caus—a 17th-century engineer, architect, and avid traveler—the Solly is designed to be a place to stay, of course, but also a place to work, with lounges and meeting rooms; to enjoy a drink and a meal at a kitchen open from dawn to dusk; all while mingling with the many locals who already frequent the hotel. As for the rooms (51), the hotel delivers on its promises with comfortable and cozy spaces—featuring shades of brown, 1970s-style graphic fabrics, and large windows overlooking the expansive square below. Finally, a special mention goes to the Solly’s commitment to sustainability, which promotes recycling, supports local suppliers, and minimizes water consumption.
