Gault&Millau's review 2025

We were already familiar with the London and New York locations of this group led by British entrepreneur Sharan Pasricha. Since 2017, The Hoxton has chosen to bring its lifestyle concept to the French capital, in the heart of the Sentier neighborhood, near the Grands Boulevards. Simply step through the carriage entrance of this sumptuous 18th-century townhouse and discover the old cobblestone courtyard—now topped by a massive glass roof and transformed into an ultra-cozy lobby—to grasp the spirit of the place. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a breather before settling into one of the 172 rooms furnished with neo-vintage pieces (Gras lamps, leather headboards…), unless you’d rather head to the 200-seat brasserie, dotted with private nooks featuring low tables and cozy sofas. A stunning winter garden, a library nook, and an intimate bar on the first floor round out this contemporary retreat, which has been fully booked since its opening. We were already familiar with the London and New York locations of this group led by British entrepreneur Sharan Pasricha. Since 2017, The Hoxton has chosen to bring its lifestyle concept to the French capital, in the heart of the Sentier district, within a sumptuous 18th-century townhouse. Simply push open the carriage gate to the former cobblestone courtyard—now topped by a massive glass roof and transformed into an ultra-cozy lobby—to grasp the spirit of the place. The 172 rooms (ranging from the Shoebox to the Biggy Terrace, 13 to 36 m²), furnished with neo-vintage pieces by Humbert & Poyet—Gras lamps, ’50s-style telephones, Hungarian-patterned parquet flooring—each offer an intimate retreat. The Rivié restaurant, located beneath the central glass roof of the cobblestone courtyard, combines French cuisine with a modern twist, while Jacques’ Bar (a speakeasy on the first floor) and the Planche wine bar (in the patio) round out the offerings. Together, these elements create a vibrant 8,500 m² living space, enhanced by a winter garden, a library corner, and a seasonal outdoor pool.
