More of a bistro and less “cuisine bourgeoise” than the nearby La Poule au Pot—also run by Jean-François Piège—this spot, which evokes a sense of nostalgia, nevertheless bears the signature of this great lover of regional cuisine. The five-toque master (of the nearby Le Grand Restaurant) is devoted to everything that forms the foundation of our cuisine—its fundamentals, but also its evolution. The weekly menu is the perfect way to get to know the place, with a different menu every day (last Tuesday featured a Caesar salad, roast leg of lamb with Provençal tomatoes, raspberry meringue with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream… The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including pâté en croûte, eggs with mayonnaise, salads, croque-madame, hamburger steak with fries, clafoutis…
