Remarkable Restaurant
It is a model farm, one of those unique places that every great French chef dreams of running one day, for generosity and sincerity are at its very heart. This haven of happiness—just as Christine and Michel Guérard envisioned it, and just as their daughters maintain it with energy and loyalty—is yet another treat for the lucky visitor to Eugénie. The tasteful decor of a genuine Landes farmhouse, the kitchen with its open fireplace, the rotisserie, the staff so full of kindness and thoughtfulness… So take a seat and savor this rare moment: the pastry crust stuffed with duck foie gras in Armagnac, the Saint-Jean hake with Dugléré butter, the famous suckling pig Castilian-style, the satay-spiced lamb shoulder, the peach croustade, rice pudding, and vine peach sorbet make for quite a feast, though tourists also have octopus and lobster ravioli to choose from. It’s easy to see that this seasonal meal, at €60 plus a few extras here and there, is a rare bargain.
