Remarkable Restaurant
This has long been the flagship restaurant of Le Briochins, set in a lovely contemporary setting. In his top-notch kitchen, Mathieu Aumont demonstrates just how important seafood is when a chef possesses both the imagination and the talent to elevate a mackerel or a spider crab to new heights. Sophisticated, well-crafted menus, a deep understanding of the ingredients, and a consistent focus on local flavors—this is what you’ll find in full measure at this restaurant, so skillfully run by Sophie and Matthieu. Seasonal vegetables paired with the taste of the sea work wonders in dishes like langoustines with peas, fresh almonds, and green beans; the spider crab ravioli with pak choi and buckwheat mayonnaise; the “pesked” of the day—carrots with gomasio and spicy carrot juice—right down to the lemon skillfully incorporated into a shortcrust pastry. A lobster menu in the summer, scallops and truffles in the winter, and an impressive wine cellar to satisfy every taste, with over 300 selections.
