Remarkable Restaurant
Featuring a wooden façade, this kaiseki restaurant seats up to 16 guests, who are seated at the chef’s counter, the tea ceremony counter, or at a table. The wines, sakes, and Japanese teas are exclusive to the restaurant and are ordered directly from Japan. The pairing of food with tea offers an interesting alternative to the usual non-alcoholic beverages and traditional food-and-wine pairings. With a unique Omakase menu, the chef prepares dishes at the counter that are nourishing for both body and mind, in the purest Japanese kaiseki (kaiseki ryori) tradition. Sabazushi, Chef Akiyoshi’s signature dish, is mackerel sushi seared over binchotan charcoal at the counter, amidst a host of exciting discoveries, including infusions, sashimi, broths, sushi, and soba… The professional staff, without being intrusive, presents each dish. The tea ceremony at the end makes the experience truly unique.
