Gault&Millau's review2026
La table des Tessandier is a place apart and a rare experience, whose imperfections are just as much a part of the unique charm of this almost forty-year-old house. A place out of time, with a poetic, old-fashioned atmosphere and a singular, sublime decoration; it exudes the atmosphere of a literary salon, with its early XXᵉ century furniture, notably its incredible cash drawer, paintings and books, the walls studded with signatures and drawings, testimony to the passage of customers. This is a Parisian bistro like no other, nestled in the heart of France, where the chefs, father and son, pay homage to tradition. We smile to see the buttered radishes as an aperitif, then the generosity of a beautiful pâté en croûte, a slab of rump steak from Limousin beef grilled over an open fire, rare to perfection, potato gratin and jus with tarragon, shallot and wine vinegar reduction. This is an old-fashioned restaurant where you take your time; it's not a good idea to have to eat too early.
