Gault&Millau's review2026
Les Arques is a charming village in the Lot countryside, halfway between Cahors and Gourdon. It is best known for its Zadkine museum, where the artist who created his most important works lived. For some years now, it has also been known for this establishment, the village's former school transformed into a restaurant. Its reputation has soared since it was taken over by Ludovic Soupirot and his partner Maria. They have recruited a talented executive chef (Rémy Soulignac) and an equally talented pastry chef (Romain Barbier). The result on the plate is very convincing: a fine work of inventiveness, combinations of textures and flavors (some of them Asian), and a sustained effort on the presentation, and even on the desserts. The team is exemplary in its kindness and efficiency in the face of the regular influx of customers. Pleasantly shaded terrace under the plane tree mulberry trees.
