Located right in the heart of the train station, this restaurant founded by Eric Frechon is clearly a treat for the food-loving traveler, who’ll find a chef’s bistro menu that satisfies every craving with a distinctive twist: red sea bream carpaccio, garlic-sautéed calamari, pâté en croûte, entrecôte, fish and chips, grilled salmon with ginger, and whipped butter. On the weekly menu: quenelles on Mondays, and duck with potatoes confit in goose fat on Thursdays. Professional service—though the place is often very busy—a selection of classic desserts (île flottante, strawberries Melba, “Paris-Deauville,” etc.), and a wine cellar extensive enough to satisfy both small and grand indulgences. Prices are higher than those at a train station buffet, but this is easily justified.
