Gault&Millau's review2026
The "hotel bistro" option, especially when it's attached to a gastro restaurant, is often a good way to enjoy a meal in conditions of comfort and standing, often offering choice and availability. This Bistrot Lumière, the second in the Ile Rousse hotel, doesn't fail: the view over the Renécros cove is superb, the menu is extensive and the dining room is open every day for lunch and dinner. It's true that you'll have to pay €100 (the price of a sequence without excess, with a glass of wine and a coffee) for an 11/20, but the deal works out well with a fresh, spicy tuna tartare, yuzu avocado with ponzu sauce, a filet of farmed bass on leeks that aren't sufficiently preserved in a saffron broth and a pear dessert that's a little timid, but pleasant. Extensive wine list with a number of good Bandol estates, friendly but slightly light service.
