Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
The Baron Albert winery was founded in the 1940s by Albert Baron and his wife Béatrice in Charly-sur-Marne, in the Aisne department. The first vintages were released in 1946. They then passed the torch to their three sons, Gilbert, Gervais, and Claude. Today, the third generation is at the helm, led by Claude’s daughters. The Baron sisters—Claire, Lise, and Aline—along with the vineyard manager, cultivate 55 hectares—including 32 hectares of Meunier—using environmentally friendly methods, and produce nearly 530,000 bottles per year in their cellars.
