This cuvée, already tasted last year, is slowly beginning to develop a patina, revealing notes of orange, curry and truffle honey. But the chalky salinity, smokiness and ripe mirabelle plum are still present. It's as complex as you could wish for, with a beautiful, salivating, dynamic energy on a never-ending finish and beautiful bitters that stretch out the wine. Splendid.

Briaux Lenique

Pol Briaux and Christian Lenique created the Briaux Lenique champagne brand in 1965. After almost fifty years in business, they passed the reins to their daughters, Nathalie and Stéphanie. The estate is located on the clay-limestone slopes of the Marne valley around the village of Mardeuil, 3 kilometers from Épernay. The 4-hectare vineyard comprises 21 plots, half of which are planted with Pinot Meunier, 30% with Chardonnay and 20% with Pinot Noir. The range comprises five cuvées.
