The nose is flattering, knowing how to be greedy and elegant at the same time; elderflower, jasmine, almond cake, mirabelle plum. The attack is smooth and carries you away in a beautiful suavity. It's rich and full of fruit, with just the right amount of freshness. Spicy notes follow through to a saline, lemony finish. A wine made for the table.

Domaine Bernard Gripa

A trusted name in the northern Rhône Valley, known for both its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines, the estate has been run since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard; both are descendants of a long line of winemakers dating back to the 17th century. The Gripa family has played a major role in the revival of both appellations and, as early as the 1970s, took the rare step of vinifying their wines directly at the estate. The estate is the only one in Mauves to produce both white and red wines right in the heart of the Saint-Joseph appellation, where the granite and limestone soils yield wines with a unique minerality.
