A slightly vegetal nose at first, which evolves into balsamic, floral and coconut milk notes, with a spicy, cereal-like quality that can be disconcerting. The palate is ripe and powerful, with a certain vinosity. The bubbles are fairly discreet, but add a little pep. The finish is slightly drying, but hints at a character that wants to express itself. A champagne that's still restrained, which we'd be happy to decant.

The estate, located in Verzenay, a Grand Cru village on the Montagne de Reims, covers 4 hectares of vines in the villages of Verzy, Verzenay, Villers-Marmery and Ville-Dommange, divided into 40 parcels. Since 2006, the vineyards have been farmed organically (certified in 2013) and biodynamically (certified in 2014), in order to respect nature, the terroir and the people who work there. All three of Champagne's main grape varieties are cultivated, enabling complex blends. No fewer than twelve different cuvées are created here, taking into account terroir, vintage and grape variety.
