The bubbles are lively, incisive even. The palate is sapid, fresh, chalky and unfurls tenderly in the mouth. A fine entry-level cuvée with a successful dosage and a mineral, lemony finish. A great success. Drink with oysters.

The company's philosophy can be summed up in this phrase: "We can't do without phytopharmaceutical products to maintain our vines, but we can use them sensibly." Soil analysis, controlled treatments, grassing and mechanical hoeing are all used here. In addition to the three traditional Champagne grape varieties, the 8-hectare estate also produces three old varieties: arbanne, petit meslier and pinot blanc from the brand-new Clos du Mont Dorin (70 ares), whose 2015 and 2016 vintages, blended with pinot meunier, are currently being aged.
