Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
In 1987, Dominique Piron, a winemaker in Morgon, decided to establish Maison Piron and became—a first in the region—a wine merchant and producer. In addition to his own vineyards, he purchased grapes and produced wine, a practice later adopted by other houses. Today, Julien Revillon oversees the winemaking of grapes from approximately fifty hectares across the Morgon appellation (5 cuvées), Fleurie, Chénas, Beaujolais-Villages, Moulin-à-Vent, Brouilly, Chiroubles, Saint-Amour, Régnié, and Beaujolais Nouveau. The full spectrum of Beaujolais wines within a house that ensures each wine expresses its soils, its terroir, and its identity.
