This is the LVMH Group’s iconic and world-renowned brand, with an annual production of around 25 million bottles. “La grande maison,” as they say in Champagne, has been in existence for nearly three centuries and owns more than 1,300 hectares. There has been an undeniable improvement in quality under Benoît Gouez, cellar master since 2005, particularly for the “Moët Impérial” brut. Achieving such quality on such a large scale is a feat to be commended in a world that often believes “small is beautiful .” A state-of-the-art winery with HVE certification, named Montaigu in reference to the hillside directly across from it, was inaugurated in Oiry in 2014. To mark its 280th anniversary, the house released a new collection called “Collection Impériale.”
