Gault&Millau's review 2025

Artfully restored over the centuries, this 17th-century château—a member of Relais & Châteaux—is now a charming retreat featuring 23 rooms and suites that blend antique and contemporary furnishings, period woodwork, and luxurious bathrooms, all opening onto the 8-hectare grounds featuring an outdoor pool and a wooded area that has become the favorite refuge of a herd of free-roaming fallow deer. The hotel is also home to the Lassey restaurant, led by Alexandre Ziane, which offers delicious cuisine featuring recipes inspired by both farm and lake, served in a vaulted dining room overlooking the medieval village of Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, the gardens, or the pond. Not far from Fontenay Abbey, a warm and refined destination.
