Exceptional Hotel
One of the city’s most iconic landmarks—and one of its most charming. Located near the Unterlinden Museum, La Maison des Têtes, built in 1609, owes its name to the profusion of sculptures that still adorn its facade. Now converted into a hotel and managed by chef Éric Girardin and Marilyn Tanguy Girardin since 2015, this establishment stands out for its unique blend of contemporary aesthetics and Alsatian heritage. This is evident in its 21 rooms with white walls designed to highlight the wood paneling, as well as in the contrast between different atmospheres: the Brasserie Historique with its wooden alcoves and stained-glass windows; the Restaurant Girardin, set in an immaculate setting; not to mention the Winstub Bartholdi and the Pâtisserie des Têtes. A member of Relais & Châteaux, this hotel is also worth visiting for its beautiful inner courtyard, where guests can dine as soon as the first rays of sunlight appear.
