Formerly the Hôtel de France, where Guillaume Apollinaire stayed in August 1913 with Marie Laurencin and a few friends, this house—centered around a spacious courtyard—opens generously onto the Seine. Brimming with charm, it offers a most peaceful setting with its five delicately decorated rooms, including “L’Amour,” which features a private terrace overlooking the river. Breakfasts are carefully prepared by Simon, the owner, and everything here exudes the sweetness of life: the in-house bar (the former village pub) with its vintage record player, the small lounge and its shop featuring a carefully curated selection of local and international products, and the unusual “hut,” just a few meters away, for a complete escape.
