Remarkable Restaurant
Located on the banks of the Allier River, between Clermont and Lezoux, this inn is a premier culinary destination in the region. While Rodolphe Regnauld never forgets his Breton roots, he works hand in hand with local producers to offer a truly enticing selection of Auvergne specialties. In the contemporary, elegantly appointed wooden dining room, he blends land and sea flavors to offer a palette of reliable and enticing tastes, no matter which menu you choose: duck pâté en croûte with foie gras or gravlax-style mackerel with Roscoff onions, served with a beetroot and wasabi sorbet; a thick cut of sea bream with ratatouille, stuffed zucchini blossoms, and mussels in chimichurri sauce; a dessert featuring seasonal fruits; peach with verbena and hibiscus or apricot with almond—all part of a set menu priced at a modest 72 €. The chef’s wife provides a warm and efficient welcome, and the extensive wine cellar features flagship wines, with a strong selection from the Loire, Burgundy, and Rhône regions, among others.
