Remarkable Restaurant
Perched at the very top of the historic village, the house is a bit of a hike to reach, but the view is well worth the effort. As unassuming as the entrance may be—a small door in a small stone house—the view that unfolds beyond it is absolutely unique: a terrace suspended over the void, offering an unforgettable panorama at an altitude of 700 meters, stretching from Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat to Cap Estel. To complement this timeless moment, Chef Justin Schmitt creates exquisite Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, priced at 200 or 250 € depending on the number of courses. First comes his signature appetizer of roasted octopus with satay and a creamy corn purée infused with peated whiskey—a wonderfully original dish that is both well-balanced and clearly conceived. Next comes the exquisite “harlequin” of herb-infused tomatoes, basil, and sardines, served with tomato water—a starter that encapsulates the essence of Provence; followed by Mediterranean amberjack with kalamansi sabayon, green beans in shrimp broth, and Madagascar caviar, and an elegant sole stuffed with mussels, served with a variety of zucchini preparations. We finish with a frosted coconut cushion with a tangy Menton lemon glaze and crispy nori, a salted peach with meringue, peach coulis, and rosé champagne. Excellent service.
