Remarkable Restaurant
Philippe Girardon is a discreet yet highly respected chef, held in high esteem by all his peers in the region. It must be said that he has taken the family restaurant—where he has been at the helm for over 35 years—to impressive heights, earning three toques three years ago. The MOF-certified chef has succeeded, within this venerable establishment set amid a beautiful park, in building a loyal team and, together with his wife Laurence and a few key staff members—including the renowned sommelier Dominique Viala—has established a gourmet restaurant of the highest caliber in the region. Refined manners and tradition take center stage, much to the delight of diners, who savor frog leg soup with mousseron mushrooms and wild garlic, barbecued blue lobster roll with claws and legs, Saint-Alban pigeon with crispy foie gras and truffle-infused mashed potatoes, and Côte-Rôtie marc jus. An extensive Rhône wine cellar featuring Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu, Hermitage and Saint-Joseph, brilliantly described and recommended by the head sommelier.
