It’s one of the best eateries on Rue Paradis, with its vintage loft decor—think a Brutalist American diner—complete with neon lights, exposed brick, and bench seating, plus empty bottles from prestigious wineries lining the wall. The cuisine is the kind of down-to-earth fare we appreciate just as much every year—reasonably priced and dishes that perfectly live up to the promise— a great €25 set menu featuring pork and Emmental gougères, a well-seasoned salad, a delicious beef stew in dark beer, thick homemade fries topped with chives and a squeeze of lemon, and a Liège-style waffle with salted butter caramel. The evening menu steps up a notch, with beautiful dishes to share: ravioli with labneh, cashews, egg yolk, and Swiss chard; grilled calamari with parsley butter and Modena balsamic vinegar; and pressed lamb with sake and seafood curry. Friendly service and a well-curated wine list.
