Description

In the heart of the Charente, between Angoulême, Limoges and Poitiers, nestles one of France's 100 best restaurants, according to The Fork 2024 and 2025 rankings: L'Estaminet, in the small commune of Esse. For the past eleven years, Nicolas Harduin and his team have been serving up delicious bistro cuisine, using fresh, local produce. "Our meat is mainly from the Limousin region, our market-gardener is organic and we really work with seasonal produce," explains the owner. The menu evolves with the seasons, with a choice of 4 starters, 5 main courses and 4 desserts. Head chef Arnaud Géral is also a pastry chef, so everything is homemade, from starters to desserts! At L'Estaminet, the team promises a fine plate of food and impeccable, customer-friendly service. Backed by its excellent reputation, the establishment welcomes customers from far and wide to enjoy creative cuisine in a charming setting (shady, tree-lined terrace in a peaceful setting). Expect an average bill of 50 to 60 euros, all inclusive. A sure bet! In July and August, the restaurant is also open on Sunday evenings.
