Gourmet Restaurant
Reopening in early July with a new team, the Villeneuve Farm is a haven of peace just outside the bustling city. It’s a pleasant surprise—while the cuisine is certainly bistro-style, it’s based on seasonal ingredients that are skillfully prepared and beautifully presented on the plate. The zucchini, mussel, and curry “cappuccino” is wonderfully fresh; the hake steak is served topped with lemon slices and resting on a Niçoise-style vegetable bed with a marinière sauce. Dessert is no exception, featuring the chef’s signature strawberry parfait, beautifully presented with sorbet. The young wine list could use some expansion, but this inventive restaurant—which makes the most of well-chosen local ingredients—deserves a toque right off the bat.
