Gourmet Restaurant
In the elegant setting of the Domaine de Monrecour, in the heart of the Périgord Noir, the restaurant has embarked on a new chapter since Adrien Soro took the helm. The Périgord naturally serves as the guiding thread of a cuisine that showcases local produce, starting with foie gras—poached in its own consommé or prepared as a terrine in a bold surf-and-turf dish glazed with trout stock, wakame, and sardines. These combinations sound enticing on paper, but they still sometimes lack clarity and precision on the plate. The menu proves more convincing for dessert, particularly with a decadent cereal mousse, crunchy topping, and Saint-Vincent walnut ice cream, which rounds out the meal on a high note. One senses a restaurant in transition, driven by a genuine desire to offer a personal and contemporary cuisine, but whose execution still needs to gain in precision and simplicity to live up to its stated gastronomic ambition. The wine cellar, with over 500 selections, remains a strong asset. A bistro lunch special is available for €29, and a five-course dinner menu starts at €45.
