A few years ago, we featured Clémence Taillandier and Philippe Platel when they opened their restaurant, and it’s clear that they’ve achieved great success. Nestled among the cobblestone streets of Old Lille, the experience the young couple gained at Troisgros and Rozó remains deeply rooted in their current service, while they’ve also successfully infused their own personality into the restaurant. The restaurant has become a must-visit on the Lille scene, with more and more regulars coming to discover the chef’s new creations and inspirations. Asian influences are always prominent on the plates. The meats are French, the ingredients are carefully sourced, wine is a must, the bistro atmosphere is well-crafted, and a certain perfectionism on the plate rounds it all out. The aperitif can now be paired with a surprising sashimi of sea bream with yuzu and glasswort before indulging in mackerel marinated in plum and pointed cabbage. Barbecued monkfish and glazed duck are served alongside blue lobster from the Opal Coast, and the desserts—such as the wild blackberry tartlet—further highlight the elegance of this modern cuisine. The wine list, meanwhile, is well-curated and intriguing.
