This chubby, full-bodied, sweet wine reveals a nose evocative of fig, vanilla and cocoa. On the palate, despite the discreet bubbles, the delicate bitters provide a pleasant finish. Aromas of plum, dried apricot and gingerbread are complemented by pleasant touches of pear, peach and pineapple with a hint of coriander. Its high dosage (since it's dry) is beautifully integrated, and would pair well with mature comtés.

Barnaut

Located in Bouzy, in the heart of the sun-drenched “grands noirs” region, the Barnaut estate—founded in 1874 by Edmond Barnaut—is now run by Philippe and Guillaume Secondé. They practice cover cropping and limit themselves to replacing old vines rather than uprooting entire plots, in order to increase the age of the vines. This approach allows them to produce champagnes characterized by lively fruitiness. The vineyard, managed in accordance with HVE3 certification, is a fine example of the Bouzy terroir. All the lieux-dits are cultivated on a plot-by-plot basis, allowing them to offer a range of nine cuvées, including a still wine—the famous red Bouzy.
