Definitely a slap in the face! The nose develops nicely, with notes of walnut, dried apricot, dried fig and pear compote. After a few minutes, sea spray, iodine and white flowers take over, surprisingly. The palate offers a certain amplitude with a patinated, present dosage. There's structure, chewiness and elegance, thanks to a silky mouthfeel. The aroma explodes with cedar, wild strawberry, sweet spices and walnut, again. Long, very long on the palate. Minerality comes through on the finish. It's bright, lively and carries you away. We imagine it with a fine piece of meat, or even game to accompany it. THE champagne that makes you love old wines.
