A nose that naturally expresses evolution, with a hint of compote and dried pineapple. Nuts, warm apple pie and toasted notes are present, leaving a plant-like impression. On the palate, the initial bubbles take over, then quickly fade. It's full and generous, with a finish that still has that planty, bitter-orange, spicy feel. The texture is silky, and you can feel that the length can hold out a little longer, thanks to the candied lemon on the finish. Perfect with game birds!

Castelnau
Created in honor of General Édouard de Curières de Castelnau, who distinguished himself in the First World War, Castelnau champagne celebrated its centenary in 2016. Very much in vogue throughout much of the 20th century, and particularly in the 1930s, it was served at the tables of several royal families and French army circles around the world. In 2021, the Terroirs et Vignerons de Champagne group acquired this house, joining the Nicolas Feuillatte brand, Abelé 1757 and, more recently, Henriot champagnes. "Champagne Castelnau is made to be shared. Its cuvées will take you on a journey into a world of their own, with real character", says Carine Bailleul, the cellar manager.
