Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Based in Montmirail, in the Marne Valley, the house of G.X. Crochet was created in 2014 when Gaëlle and Xavier, oenologists by training, wanted to bring out their own Champagne style. They were awarded the Jeunes Talents en Champagne prize in 2018. The grapes are pressed and elaborated on Xavier's family estate, then the two winemakers market their champagnes at their Echelle-le-Franc property in Montmirail, in a 16th-century building listed as a historic monument. They cultivate 10 hectares of vines planted in crus such as Bergères-sous-Montmirail, Cramant and Oiry.
