Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Based in Montmirail, in the Marne Valley, G.X. Crochet was founded in 2014 when Gaëlle and Xavier, both trained oenologists, set out to develop their own style of Champagne. They were named winners of the “Jeunes Talents en Champagne” award in 2018. The grapes are pressed and vinified on Xavier’s family estate, and the two winemakers then market their champagnes from their property in Échelle-le-Franc, Montmirail, in a 16th-century building designated a historic monument. They cultivate 10 hectares of vineyards planted in crus such as Bergères-sous-Montmirail, Cramant, and Oiry.
