Gault&Millau's review 2026

This is a wine that is still young; its sweetness will only become more integrated with time and will find its ideal balance when paired with the right food, but it is already quite enjoyable right now. It is complex and inviting, with notes of clementine, quince paste, gingerbread, and orange. It has a lovely finish for an affordably priced wine with real potential.

Château de Brossay
Château de Brossay
A Loire Valley vineyard that produces white, red, rosé, and crémant wines, but is particularly renowned for its sweet Coteaux-du-Layon wines. As is typical of the Loire, the 50 hectares of vineyards feature Chenin Blanc as the star variety, although the estate also grows Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, Grolleau, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon. At the helm of the estate are Nicolas Tamboise and Benjamin Grandsart, the fourth generation of winemakers since the founder, Alexis Deffois, who established the estate in 1919.
