Already tasted last year, this entry-level cuvée is made with a majority of pinot noir. The color is clear and brilliant, and the bubbles fine. Powerful, with notes of fresh grapes and green apples, this wine has a greedy, brioche-like character. A champagne for every occasion.

Michel Gonet

While the Gonet family has owned vines in Mesnil-sur-Oger for seven generations, Michel Gonet chose to strike out on his own, setting up his own business in Avize in 1973. He quickly bought vineyards, building up a comfortable estate, four-fifths of which is planted with Chardonnay. Assisted now by his children (his daughter Sophie is co-manager of the estate), he has for many years been offering a series of excellent grands crus with great regularity.
